The Italian stopper is currently with Torino.
Aston Villa’s transfer window has been largely disappointing. The Premier League’s bottom side managed to agree one deal, for Croatian goalkeeper Lovre Kalinic, but that fell through after he was rejected a work permit.
Reports in Italy then suggested that Villa were in fact after Daniele Padelli of Torino as an alternative, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
Padelli, a former Liverpool youth product, would have been a sensible signing for Villa considering their current goalkeeper issues but it now appears as though he is much more likely to head to Premier League rivals Bournemouth.
Tuttosport in Italy are reporting that Villa have failed to agree a fee with Torino for Padelli and therefore the transfer to Villa Park is off.
However, Bournemouth are now said to be ready for a swoop on the 30-year-old Italian.
Bournemouth, like Villa, have dealt with inconsistent form from the likes of Artur Boruc and Adam Federici this season.
Aston Villa fans meanwhile are fed up with the below par play of Brad Guzan and do not see Mark Bunn as a viable alternative.
But according to the most recent reports it is Bournemouth whose goalkeeping worries may be alleviated by Padelli.
