Aston Villa reportedly want to sign Nathaniel Chalobah from Premier League side Watford before deadline day.

Promotion hopefuls Aston Villa are looking at potentially signing Watford midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah before Thursday’s deadline, according to a report.
BBC Sport claim that Villa boss Dean Smith is keen on adding depth to his midfield, with 24-year-old Chalobah being considered as a loan option.
Javi Gracia’s side are currently sitting in the top 10 of the Premier League table, but Chalobah has only made six appearances for the Spaniard and has not featured in the league at all since early December.
Despite that, at the start of the season, he was capped by England manager Gareth Southgate when he came on as a late substitute during a UEFA Nations League encounter against Spain in October.
Chalobah came through the ranks at Chelsea and has played for a number of clubs, including Championship duo Reading and Nottingham Forest.
For Villa, they are vying for promotion to the Premier League, but are currently sitting four points outside of the playoff places and are looking to inject more quality into their squad.

At this moment in time, Smith has the likes of Conor Hourihane, Jack Grealish, Henri Lansbury, Mile Jedinak, Birkir Bjarnason, Glenn Whelan and John McGinn to choose from as his midfield options.
But Lansbury has struggled with injuries, Grealish is on the sidelines, Jedinak only featured for the first time under Smith at the weekend and the Express & Star report that Icelandic international Bjarnason is free to leave the club.
