According to Foot Mercato, Aston Villa have joined West Ham and Newcastle in the race to sign Layvin Kurzawa.
What’s the story?
Well, Foot Mercato believe Aston Villa have made contact with Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for the defender.
It comes after Tutto Mercato Web revealed that Newcastle are also interested in signing the £89,000-a-week man.
So far this season, Kurzawa has struggled for game time under Mauricio Pochettino, making just one appearance in all competitions.
As a result, the 13-cap France international wants to leave the Parc des Princes, and Pochettino is happy to sell him.
Foot Mercato add that Lyon, Napoli, Inter Milan, Lazio and Rome are also interested in the 29-year-old.
Interestingly, an earlier report – again from Foot Mercato – claimed West Ham were also eyeing a move for Kurzawa.
Who will land Layvin Kurzawa out of Aston Villa, West Ham and Newcastle?

Intriguingly, the Premier League trio are all said to be interested in Everton defender Lucas Digne, so a new left-back is clearly on the agenda.
In our view, whoever misses out on the Toffees full-back will be involved in a late window swoop for Kurzawa on a short-term contract.
As things stand, the Villans seem closest to signing Digne – Sky Sports believe they are in advanced talks with Everton.

In that respect, we think Kurzawa will end up at West Ham or Newcastle.
The Hammers can offer him Europa League football, whereas the Magpies can offer the PSG No.20 a significant salary.
Keep an eye on this saga – only time will tell where he ends up.
