Aston Villa have joined the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle in the race to sign Callum Wilson, according to reports.
The Telegraph have claimed that recently-relegated Bournemouth are considering a deal for Villa striker Scott Hogan, and as a result, Villa would consider a part-exchange for their own frontman, Wilson because they are ‘admirers’ of him.
A number of Premier League clubs have been keen on Wilson’s signature despite him suffering relegation with the Cherries on the last day of the Premier League season.
The Daily Star recently claimed that Spurs have turned their attention to signing Wilson, who wants to leave Dean Court, as the North London outfit think they can see off the likes of West Ham and Newcastle for his signature.
Out of all the clubs interested, Spurs can offer European football, but the others can perhaps provide more game time because Wilson wouldn’t be playing behind a Harry Kane at either St James’ Park, the London Stadium or Villa Park.
But given the Telegraph report states that Bournemouth are keen on Hogan then the Republic of Ireland international may just help Dean Smith land the experienced striker.

Bournemouth, who are now managed by Jason Tindall following Eddie Howe’s departure, want an instant return to the Premier League and losing their key players won’t help but is seems inevitable.
And whilst they may not be able to stop the above scenario from taking place, one thing they can do is potentially get the best out of a certain deal and if Villa can seemingly offer a player in exchange then it’ll help their cause.
Wilson scored on his England debut back in 2018 [transfermarkt], but since then he perhaps hasn’t hit the heights many expected him to.
He struggled for large parts of last season, scoring only eight league goals [transfermarkt], but could a fresh move away from Dean Court do him the world of good?
