Aston Villa have joined West Ham United in targeting Leeds United winger Jack Harrison following their relegation.
Jack Harrison could leave Leeds United this summer with both Aston Villa and West Ham United interested in signing him.
That is according to a report from TalkSPORT, who suggest that Harrison has a relegation release clause in his contract.
Harrison only signed a new deal with Leeds in April, seemingly putting an end to rumours over his future.
However, Harrison – hailed as ‘outstanding’ by pundit Don Goodman back in August – appears to have a clause which allows him to leave Elland Road this summer.
The Whites suffered relegation on Sunday evening and that leaves them open to losing Harrison this summer.
Moves to West Ham and especially Villa will surely appeal to Harrison, who harbours ambitions of becoming an England international.
Playing in the Championship won’t make that dream a reality and with Euro 2024 on the horizon, Harrison may want a Premier League return.

Jack Harrison may be Marco Asensio alternative for Aston Villa
Unai Emery has really turned Villa around since his appointment and has taken the club into the Europa Conference League.
That means Villa are now chasing ambitious signings in an attempt to push forward again next season.
One of the top targets is Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio amid claims that Emery has been calling him to join Villa.
Asensio, much like Harrison, is a left-footed winger who can play on either flank.
The Spaniard is a higher-profile player than Harrison and, given that he can move on for free, appears to be Villa’s priority.
Yet with other clubs also interested in Asensio, Villa need to have alternative wingers in mind.
Harrison is a proven Premier League player and, depending on the value of the release clause, could be a bargain for Villa.
The 26-year-old hit five goals and seven assists despite Leeds’ relegation and will surely play Premier League football again next season, whether that’s with Villa or another club.
