Aston Villa defender Jacob Bedeau could be heading for the club’s exit door amid interest from other parties, according to a report.
The Birmingham Mail claim that League One side Scunthorpe are interested in the services of the 19-year-old centre-back, who is yet to make a first-team appearance.
Bedeau moved to the Championship club from League One side Bury in 2017, but during his time B6, he featured for Villa’s under 23’s for most of the time
Now, the report states that Stuart McCall’s Scunthorpe are interested in his services and the lower league side want him signed by the time the transfer window shuts at 11 pm.
Moving out of the Championship will suit Bedeau because it will allow him to earn some valuable competitive game time during a critical part of his career.
During his time at Villa, he has had to contend with the likes of John Terry, James Chester, Tommy Elphick and Axel Tuanzebe for a first-team spot.
Nonetheless, over the course of this season, the versatile defender has made 13 appearances for Villa’s younger age groups, helping them secure four clean sheets in Premier League 2, according to transfermarkt.
As for his potential destination, Scunthorpe, they are sitting 14th in the third tier of English football, with 10 wins and 13 losses to their name during this campaign.
