Aston Villa are interested in signing Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth in the January transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

It has been reported that Villa’s Championship rivals, West Bromwich Albion, are also interested in securing the services of Mings on loan for the rest of the season.

Good signing for Aston Villa

Mings is a very good defender who can operate as a central defender or as a left-back.

Villa do need an established left-back in their team in their quest to finish in the top six of the Championship this season, and the 25-year-old will be a good addition to Dean Smith’s side.

The former Ipswich Town star knows the Championship well, and he could be tempted by Villa as he is struggling for playing time at Bournemouth at the moment.

Mings – who earns £23,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com – has made two starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Cherries so far this season, according to WhoScored.
