Aston Villa are said to be interested in Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, Aston Villa are looking at completing a sensational swoop for Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere.

Villa have shown great ambition in the transfer market, with a number of profile arrivals signing up at Villa Park already this summer.

Jack Wilshere of AFC Bournemouth goes down injured during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and AFC Bournemouth at White Hart Lane on April 15, 2017 in London, England.

And Wilshere is said to be the latest name to appear on Steve Bruce’s wishlist.

The claret and blues are keen to give the Arsenal man an escape route from the Emirates Stadium, with Arsene Wenger’s side looking to sell.

At this stage the deal looks as if it could be problematic for more than one reason.

Arsenal are keen to only allow Wilshere to leave on a permanent basis, and Villa could struggle to meet the Gunners’ valuation.

Bruce’s men are more hopeful of getting Wilshere on loan, but even then his wages could be hard to match.

Wilshere already has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs, and if he was to join Villa it would be seen as a major coup for the Midlands side.
