
According to The Athletic, Aston Villa are in talks with Matt Targett over a new contract.
It has been reported that the 25-year-old defender is enjoying himself at Villa and is in line for a pay-rise at the club and will get an extension.
The Villans are happy with how the left-back has performed this season and want to reward him, according to the report.

Targett joined Villa from Southampton in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee reported by The Athletic to be worth £14 million.
The left-back has done well for the Villans and has progressed well at Villa Park, and he is now a key player in manager Dean Smith’s side.

According to WhoScored, the Englishman has made 30 appearances in the Premier League for the Villans so far this season, providing one assist in the process.
During the 2019-20 campaign, Targett made 27 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Villa, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process, according to Whoscored.
