Aston Villa are reportedly attempting to sign Swansea duo Neil Taylor and Modou Barrow.
According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa are in talks over a deal to sign Swansea City defender Neil Taylor – and could also swoop for attacker Modou Barrow, with Jordan Ayew potentially heading in the opposite direction.
Villa have added five new faces to their squad during this month’s transfer window, as goalkeeper Sam Johnstone and right back James Bree have been joined by midfielders Henri Lansbury, Birkir Bjarnason and Conor Hourihane.

However, with Villa sitting nine points off a Championship play-off place, manager Steve Bruce may yet be keen on adding more new signings, and with just a matter of days to go until the transfer deadline, he needs to move quickly.
Now, The Telegraph report that Villa are in talks to sign Swansea City left back Neil Taylor, who could be surplus to requirements at the Liberty Stadium after new manager Paul Clement landed another left back in Martin Olsson from Norwich City earlier this month.

Taylor, 27, joined Swansea from Wrexham back in the summer of 2010, and he’s racked up more than 150 league appearances for the club whilst also becoming a regular with the Welsh national team, racking up 33 caps for his country.
This season has been tough for Taylor though, as he’s started just 11 of Swansea’s Premier League games, and could now be sold on to Villa following Olsson’s arrival in South Wales.
It’s claimed that Villa boss Bruce wants competition for Jordan Amavi at left back, and having allowed Aly Cissokho to join Olympiacos earlier this month, Taylor is his player of choice – and with talks opened, a deal could be done before Tuesday.
The report adds that there could be more layers to this deal though, as Villa also want to land Swansea’s Gambian winger Modou Barrow, who has notched two assists in the Premier League this season, with Villa forward Jordan Ayew potentially heading in the opposite direction.
Ayew hit seven goals in the Premier League last season and could follow in the footsteps of brother Andre by signing for the Swans, who need an attacking – and a deal that sees Swansea get Ayew plus some cash in exchange for Taylor and Barrow could be on the cards.
