Aston Villa boss Dean Smith is said to be keen on Neal Maupay and Said Benrahma.

Villa are said to be discussing Maupay’s value with Brentford, while they have just seen a bid rejected for Benrahma.
Howver, Dean Smith’s side could yet go back with an improved bid for Maupay in the remaining two weeks of the transfer window, as Villa look to strengthen their attack further.
If Villa do manage to get moves over the line for both Maupay and Benrahma then it would complete a remarkable transfer window for the Midlands side.
Both Mahmoud Trezeguet and Douglas Luiz are on the verge of switches to Villa (Birmingham Mail), and if the Brentford duo were to follow them to Villa Park then Smith’s side would be transformed from the one which earned promotion last year.

Benrahma would offer Villa even more creativity and pace going forward, while Maupay could lead the line for the claret and blues.
Maupay is a very different option to Wesley, who Villa have already snapped up.
And if Villa do manage to complete the double swoop it may just be the best transfer window any newly promoted Premier League side have ever had.
