According to The Sun, Aston Villa are making a £3million move for Watford midfielder Adlene Guedioura following Tom Cleverley’s move to Vicarage Road.
It’s now just one point in the last three Championship games for Villa, as Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Wolverhampton Wanderers followed defeat at Cardiff City and a draw with Leeds United.

Villa now sit ten points off the Championship play-off places, and manager Steve Bruce is going to need new signings – as well as something of a miracle – in order to break into the top six this season.
A midfielder is unsurprisingly on Bruce’s wish list, as Mile Jedinak has had his ups and downs since arriving from Crystal Palace, Aaron Tshibola has barely made an impact following his move from Reading, whilst Ashley Westwood has struggled this term.

Now, The Sun report that Villa are making a £3million move to sign Watford midfielder Adlene Guedioura, with the Algerian now the latest name on Bruce’s wishlist, as well as Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury, Fulham’s Tom Cairney and Barnsley’s Conor Hourihane.
Guedioura, 31, has enjoyed a lengthy spell in English football having joined Wolves from Charleroi in 2010, as he’s also turned out for Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Watford.
The Algeria international has been in and out of the Watford side this season, starting nine games in the Premier League, but he could now be pushed down the pecking order at Vicarage Road, as Watford have signed former Villa midfielder Tom Cleverley this month.
Villa are allegedly hoping to seal a £3million move for Guedioura, despite The Sun also claiming that Villa have agreed in principle to pay Barnsley ace Hourihane £28,000-a-week, meaning that Villa could sign not one but two new midfielders this month as Bruce attempts to overhaul his squad.
