Aston Villa have sent scouts to Ibrox to check on the progress of Glasgow Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos.

Morelos has made a solid start to life in Scottish football, since moving to Ibrox in the summer.
The 21-year-old Colombian forward has hit the back of the net eight times in his first 15 matches for the Light Blues.
And Morelos’ fine scoring form has already started to attract the attentions of clubs south of the border.

Villa are one of the teams who have kept tabs on Morelos’ progress, but he is not believed to be near the top of Steve Bruce’s wish list at this moment in time.
Villa may look to invest in the January transfer window, as they look to strengthen their bid for promotion from the Championship.

But Morelos is unlikely to be a player that Villa actively pursue at this moment in time.
Morelos’ performances at Rangers have not been enough to save Pedro Caixinha from the sack.
Caixinha departed Ibrox yesterday, with Rangers’ form poor over recent weeks.
