According to the Express & Star, Aston Villa have enquired about loaning Axel Tuanzebe this season.
The Manchester United defender doesn’t seem to have much of a chance of making a first-team impact this season at Old Trafford, especially after the arrival of Raphael Varane, so a loan move would make a lot of sense for the defender.
Of course, this wouldn’t be the first time Tuanzebe has played for Villa. He was famously on loan at Villa Park during the Midlands club’s promotion season.

It’s fair to say that Tuanzebe was brilliant for Villa during that campaign, and he was even described as ‘terrific’ by Dean Smith during that time.
Villa could probably do with some defensive reinforcements as they don’t have too much depth beyond Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa these days, and a move for Tuanzebe, who knows the manager’s tactics, would make a lot of sense.
Unfortunately for Villa, they’re not the only side in for the United ace.
Indeed, Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in Tuanzebe, so this could be something of a race for his signature this summer.
Villa have done some impressive business so far, and Tuanzebe would be another shrewd addition.
