The Ghanaian has been linked with a return to French football.

Aston Villa striker Jordan Ayew is not interested in a January exit from Villa Park – as he wants to focus on the upcoming African Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Ayew is all set to head to the competition with his Ghana national team as a starter and key player for the Black Stars so is not looking for any distractions – as they start the competition as one of the favourites.

It is reported in France, as relayed by Foot01, that Saint-Etienne are interested in signing the player in the winter – where he would join fellow Villa loanee Jordan Veretout.

It was also reported this weekend by Buzz Sports that he is wanted by his former club Marseille.

But it appears that Ayew is going nowhere, as he aims to focus on his international commitments and chasing promotion with Villa.

Ayew joined Aston Villa in the summer of 2015 and suffered relegation with the club last season.

He remained with the club for this season but despite some good form at the start of the season he is now struggling to be a regular in the Villa side under the guidance of Steve Bruce.

However, he appears ready to remain at the club for the time being.
