Aston Villa have reportedly failed with a move for Adam Webster.

According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa have failed with a £12million bid to sign Bristol City defender Adam Webster.
Webster, 24, only joined the Robins last summer in a deal from Ipswich Town as a replacement for Aden Flint, but starred under Lee Johnson last term.
The defender is now attracting major Premier League interest, and one year on from losing the likes of Joe Bryan and Bobby Reid to top flight clubs, Bristol City are standing firm this time.
Villa have allegedly offered £12million for Webster, but that bid has been rejected, with Bristol City holding out for a huge fee according to reports.
Bristol Live claim that the Robins want a staggering £30million for Webster, meaning Villa’s bid wasn’t even half of the asking price.
Villa need centre backs, with loanees Tyrone Mings and Axel Tuanzebe back at their parent clubs, and deals to bring them back proving to be a little difficult.

Webster appears to be right up there for Dean Smith, but there’s surely no way Villa go anywhere near paying £30million – a club record fee – for Webster.
They’ll maybe hope to grind Bristol City down to around £15million to £20million, but for now, Villa seemingly won’t be bringing Webster in to Villa Park.
