Is Marvelous Nakamba set to join former Club Brugge team-mate Wesley Moraes at Premier League newcomers Aston Villa?

Club Brugge are open to selling Aston Villa target Marvelous Nakamba for the right price this summer and have already received a number of offers for the coveted midfielder, according to Het Laaste Nieuws.

With Aston Villa bidding farewell to veteran duo Mile Jedinak and Glenn Whelan after sealing their return to the Premier League, Dean Smith’s side are in need of new defensive midfielder.

After links with Kalvin Phillips and Ethan Ampadu, Nakamba has also emerged on their radar. The Chronicle claims that Aston Villa, as well as Newcastle United and Watford, are keeping tabs on the £20 million-rated Zimbabwe international.

HLN has backed up these claims by reporting that the 25-year-old is indeed on the Midland giants’ wishlist.

And, crucially, Brugge are open to selling a player they brought in two years ago from Vitesse Arnhem. Nakamba’s sale is ‘negotiable’ but only for the ‘right price’.

But will Brugge sell another player to Aston Villa, just one week after Brazilian striker Wesley Moraes joined the Premier League newcomers for a club-record £22 million? Not if Atalanta have anything to do about it.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are also interested in the tough-tackling enforcer. And, given that Atalanta qualified for the Champions League at the expense of AC Milan, Roma and Lazio, their offer should be a tempting one.
