Aston Villa defender Easah Suliman has been on loan at Dutch side FC Emmen.
Aston Villa defender Easah Suliman will return to his parent club after having his loan spell at Dutch side FC Emmen ended early, according to a report.
Dutch outlet RTV Drenthe are reporting that following talks between Villa’s technical staff and Emmen coach Dick Lukkien, they came to the conclusion that a longer stay for Suliman was ‘not useful’.
The 20-year-old centre-back joined the Eredivisie side in the summer in what was a season-long loan deal, but he only managed nine minutes on the pitch for the club.
According to Transfermarkt, Suliman was on the bench for the majority of the time and playing a number of games for the club’s under-21’s side.
FC Emmen are sitting 13th in Holland’s top-tier, five points above bottom-of-the-table De Graafschap and six points behind eighth-placed VVV.
This is not the first time Suliman has been sent out on loan by Villa, he has featured for League Two side Cheltenham Town and Grimsby in recent seasons.
It remains to be seen whether Suliman will go back on loan in January, playing for Villa’s under-23’s or feature in Dean Smith’s side as he aims for promotion to the Premier League.
Villa are currently three points outside of the play-off places and will travel to Preston North End at the weekend following their 1-0 win at Swansea City on Boxing Day.
