The French defender has been linked with a move away for some time.

French reports are claiming that Aston Villa defender Aly Cissokho is in Greece conducting a medical with Olympiakos ahead of a potential switch to the Greek capital.

Mercato 365 is reporting that the Villa defender is all set to leave the club, with a move to Greece now the most likely option.

If he completes the medical successfully, which is not necessarily a given as he has failed one in the past, then he will be on his way out of Villa.

The Frenchman has been a polarizing figure at the club for some time.

He has put in some poor performances during his time at the club but, considering recent player performances at Villa Park, he has also been one of the hardest workers and more honest players on the field.

The deal will reportedly be a loan deal until the end of the season, with the option to make it permanent in the summer if successful.

He started the season at left-back for Villa but new manager Steve Bruce has preferred to play with Jordan Amavi in the role.
