Aston Villa are said to be interested in signing Ben Gibson, but the centre-back is eager to fight for his place at Burnley.

Aston Villa may have been dealt another blow in their hunt for transfers, as the Northern Echo suggest that Ben Gibson is determined to fight for his place at Burnley next season.
TeamTalk claim that Villa want to sign Gibson, as Dean Smith’s side look at their defensive options.
Gibson had a difficult season at Burnley last term, after signing from them in the summer.
However, the commanding centre-back is said to be keen to stay at Turf Moor, despite links with Villa.
Gibson is only likely to leave Burnley if he is forced out by Sean Dyche, which means Villa could be made to look elsewhere again.
Villa made brilliant progress in the transfer window soon after earning promotion, but things seem to have slowed now.

Smith’s side have been linked with a host of centre-backs, but getting transfers over the line is proving problematic.
And Gibson’s stance looks like another blow for Villa, as they are very short of options in central defence at this moment in time.
