Aston Villa have reportedly decided to target Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.
According to a report in The Sun, Aston Villa are considering targeting an ambitious move for Stoke City striker Peter Crouch 13 years after the veteran left Villa Park.
Villa have already shown plenty of ambition during this window, bringing John Terry in ahead of their second consecutive season in the Championship, and looking at trying to bring Joe Hart in from Manchester City, according to the Express and Star.

And The Sun believes that they have an even greater number of current Premier League players on their radar, with Steve Bruce eyeing up a move for the 36-year-old – though the deal would seemingly require plenty of compromise from Crouch’s current club.
According to The Sun, Stoke may consider letting him leave with his involvement in the team becoming less frequent, but Villa would need the Potters to accept a reduced fee as they will need as much of their funds as possible to cover the former England striker’s wages.
The Sun adds that Crouch – who scored six times in 37 league games for Villa before leaving in 2004 – would be unlikely to accept a significant pay cut if he did return to Villa Park.
While Crouch may be reaching the twilight of his career, there is no question that he has a decent record from his time in the Premier League, and his tally of seven goals in the top flight last season was arguably fairly impressive given that he started just 13 of his 27 appearances, so perhaps he would be another excellent addition to Bruce’s squad.
