Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is familiar with the versatile Hull City star.
Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady
Aston Villa are close to landing Hull City’s Ahmed Elmohamady in a £3 million deal, The Sun reports [21 June, page 52].
The right-back or right-midfielder is in talks with an English club according to his agent, and negotiations are said to be “going well.”
Villa’s interest would come as little surprise, given that their manager, Steve Bruce, has signed Elmohamady at two former clubs, including Hull.
And it was Bruce who brought the Egyptian to English football initially from ENPPI.

The 56-year-old is thought to want to add another winger to his ranks, and the fact that the Villans already have right-backs James Bree, Ritchie de Laet and Alan Hutton on board suggests Elmohamady will spend most of his time higher up the pitch, should a move to Villa Park go ahead.
Nevertheless, the 29-year-old’s arrival could see one of the above trio sold, with Hutton perhaps the most likely candidate despite recently triggering a one-year contract extension.

Elmohamady would be Villa’s first signing ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
Would Hull’s Elmohamady be a good acquisition for Aston Villa?
