Aston Villa are likely to sign Ollie Watkins for £22 million in the near future, The Sun claim.
Villa have made the Brentford striker one of their top targets this summer, and it seems that they have won the race for his signature.
Watkins is set to leave Brentford, following the arrival of Ivan Toney yesterday, and the Sun say that Villa are by far his most likely buyers.
That development should be music to the ears of Dean Smith, who is looking to make his side a greater attacking threat next year.
Villa clearly lacked a goalscorer last season, with Wesley, Keinan Davis and Ally Samatta all failing to totally convince when given the chance to lead the line.

Watkins, on the other hand, smashed in 26 goals at Championship level, and there a feeling that he is ready to step up to the Premier League now.
Villa have had to compete with a number of clubs for his signature, but seem to have won the race now, with Smith having already worked with Watkins at Brentford in his younger days.
