Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers are among the clubs interested in signing Boubakary Soumare from Lille in the summer transfer window, according to FootMercato.

However, according to the French news outlet, Leicester City are leading the race for the midfielder, with Everton also keen on securing his services this summer.

The report has claimed that Leicester have held talks with the 22-year-old midfielder’s club and agent, and that things are at an advanced stage.

While Leicester appear to be in the driver’s seat, things change very quickly when it comes to transfer deals.

Villa and Wolves will now need to act quickly and perhaps make a bid soon.

The 22-year-old is a very good and promising young midfielder who has been described by The Daily Star as ‘the next Paul Pogba’.

The report in the British tabloid last month also credited Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United with interest in the youngster.

Soumare has made 19 starts and 11 substitute appearances in Ligue 1 and made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Europa League this season.

Comparison with Manchester United midfielder Pogba is very encouraging, and if Villa and Wolves want to sign him, then they need to move fast.
