It is claimed that Leicester are keen to loan out the 25-year-old, and a move to Aston Villa or Wolverhampton Wanderers could appeal despite Premier League interest.
Leicester City midfielder Matty James is wanted by Championship sides Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to the Telegraph.
James is finally fit again after missing the whole of last season’s title triumph, and Leicester are reportedly looking into a short-term loan for the 26-year-old.
Hull City and Swansea City are also credited with an interest, though it is claimed that the Foxes – who are only five points better off than the Premier League’s joint-bottom sides – do not wish for James to join a relegation rival, clearing the way for Aston Villa or Wolverhampton Wanderers to pounce.
James missed the whole of last season through injury and could fancy a move to either Villa or Wolves
Midfield is believed to be a priority area to strengthen for Villa boss Steve Bruce, whose Wolves counterpart Paul Lambert is targeting players with Championship experience, according to Molineux sporting director Kevin Thelwell.
James, who began life at Manchester United, has appeared 87 times in England’s second tier, winning promotion with Leicester in 2014.
James is involved in a tussle with Aston Villa players
The Lancastrian went on to become a regular in the Foxes’ side which beat the drop a year later, but has played just a minute of senior level football since then.
Would James be a good signing for Aston Villa/Wolverhampton Wanderers?
