Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Josh Scowen in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
Scowen has been on the books of Barnsley since January 2015 and has a contract with the Championship club until June 2017, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
According to The Sun, the midfielder is available on a free transfer this summer after deciding against signing the new deal offered to him by the Tykes.
The British tabloid has claimed that Championship duo Villa and Wolves are interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old former Wycombe Wanderers midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Fulham and Brentford are also interested in Scowen, according to The Sun, which claims that Wolves and the Bees have made contact with the midfielder.
The Sun has claimed that Villa, Wolves, Fulham and Brentford all are willing to pay around £9,000 per week as salary to sign Scowen.
Barnsley signed Scowen from Wycombe in 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Sun to be worth £240,000.
