Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are reportedly set to battle Crystal Palace for Jeffrey Schlupp.
According to The Guardian, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are poised to make Crystal Palace’s imminent £12million bid for Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp.
Schlupp, 24, was born in Germany but moved to England at a young age, and has been on the books at Leicester since 2005, before he was even a teenager.

After a loan spell with Brentford and a trial with Manchester United, Schlupp has become a first-team regular with the Foxes, and he’s now racked up 150 appearances for the club in all competitions.
However, Schlupp – who can play at left back or on the left of midfield – has started just four games this season and appeared just nine times in total, having seemingly slipped down Claudio Ranieri’s pecking order this season.

Now, The Guardian report that Crystal Palace are set to make a new £12million bid having seen their £9million offer fail earlier this week – but they aren’t alone in the race to sign the Ghanaian this month.
The report adds that Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion are set to match Palace’s £12million bid or Schlupp in the coming days, with the race for his signature hotting up.
Aston Villa boss Steve Bruce is keen to bring in a left-sided midfielder during this month’s transfer window, and Schlupp certainly fits the bill, with his blistering pace no doubt appealing, whilst the chance to reunite with Ghanaian international team-mates Albert Adomah and Jordan Ayew may help Villa’s pursuit.
However, Palace and West Brom can offer him Premier League football, and with both teams seeking reinforcements down the left, Schlupp could have a huge decision to make by the end of the month.
