A report in the Daily Star has suggested that Aston Villa, West Brom and Derby County are all interested in trying to sign Joe Ledley following his release from Crystal Palace this summer.
Ledley’s departure from Selhurst Park seemed inevitable for a while as he did not feature again for the Eagles following their emphatic defeat to Sunderland back in February.
And now the three sides are ready to make a move.
The Star reports that the Baggies attempted to sign the Wales international back in January before landing Jake Livermore. However, their interest could now be reignited as they look to replace Darren Fletcher at the Hawthorns.

Meanwhile, Villa fans may have been expecting their midfield options to be bolstered by the arrival of Glenn Whelan following their £500,000 bid, but the Star adds that Ledley is now being seen by Steve Bruce as a cheaper alternative with their offer for Whelan being knocked back.
The Star reports that the Rams could also contemplate making a move for the former Celtic man as Gary Rowett continues to try and build a squad capable of securing promotion next term.

Given the offers on the table, it may appear that a move to West Brom may perhaps be the most attractive option as it will give Ledley the chance to stay in the Premier League.
But having struggled to break into Palace’s side on a regular basis during his final season at Selhurst Park, he may perhaps feel that a move into the Championship may give him a better chance of enjoying regular first-team football.
