The Birmingham Mail have reported that Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will decide his future by the end of the month, amid speculation linking him with moves to Aston Villa, Leeds United and Sunderland.

The 24-year-old impressed on loan at Aston Villa last season and manager Steve Bruce is determined to bring him back to the West Midlands.

However, The Birmingham Mail claims that although Johnstone is rated around the £5 million mark, another loan move is the most likely option for the Villans.

The report goes on to state that the young keeper hopes to decide his future by the end of June as speculation mounts that other Championship clubs are interested.

The Daily Mail reported this week that Leeds are keen on bringing Johnstone to Elland Road to provide competition 37-year-old Robert Green.

The same report also suggested Sunderland – relegated from the Premier League this past season – were also in the mix but it remains to be seen what he chooses.

He enjoyed a good run of form with Aston Villa in the second half of last season but Leeds and Sunderland’s reported interests could turn his head.

All three are huge clubs who will certainly be hoping to win promotion back to the Premier League next term.
