iNews report that Aston Villa and Everton are ‘leading the race’ to sign AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham this summer with Roma requesting a fee of £67million for the England striker – with Manchester United exploring other options.
Erik ten Hag’s side had been exploring a move for Abraham – but have decided to prioritise a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer. That is despite a number of pundits suggesting they go after Tottenham star Harry Kane.
So, with Manchester United now moving for Osimhen – who is shining at Serie A leaders Napoli – Abraham is being eyed by Villa and Everton. The report claims that the two Premier League sides are leading the race for £67m Abraham.
Abraham has of course been at Roma since the summer of 2021. In his first season, Abraham scored 27 goals and laid on five assists in 53 games as Jose Mourinho’s men won the Conference League. This season, not as successful.
Just seven goals and five assists in 33 games – 25 of which have been starts – have come from Abraham. Nevertheless, Villa and Everton are keen. But Roma want £67m, the buyback Chelsea clause inserted in his Roma contract.

Aston Villa, Everton leading race to sign Roma striker Tammy Abraham
Of course, Abraham spent a year on loan at Villa – helping the Midlands side gain promotion back to the Premier League with 26 goals in 40 games. Villa failed to sign him permanently and he became first choice at Stamford Bridge.
Meanwhile at Everton, the Toffees need a striker and interest in Abraham suggests they are looking to replace Dom Calvert-Lewin. The latter has been regularly injured over the past year. Villa would be more attractive to Abraham.
Having played there previously, Villa are comfortably in mid-table and are under no threat of going down. Everton sit in the bottom three after another loss, a 4-0 defeat to Arsenal. So, a return to Villa could be on the cards for Abraham.
