Aston Villa and Everton are now reportedly facing competition from Lazio for Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

As we covered here at HITC Sport, The Daily Star reported last month that Villa want to sign midfielder Loftus-Cheek from Chelsea in the summer transfer window.

The Villans are looking for a loan deal for the 25-year-old midfielder, who spent the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Fulham.

Earlier this month, we also relayed report by The Daily Mail that Everton want to secure the services of the England international.

However, it now seems that Villa and Everton will face competition from Lazio for Loftus-Cheek.

SkySport journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his website that prospective new Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri wants to sign Loftus-Cheek.

Sarri, a former Chelsea manager, is set to become the new Lazio boss.

The Italian tactician has already told Lazio to get him Loftus-Cheek, having worked with the midfielder – described as “outstanding” by former Crystal Palace and Fulham manager Roy Hodgson in Football.London in October 2020 – at Chelsea.

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has a strong midfield department, and Loftus-Cheek would find it hard to break into the team next season.

Villa and Everton are big clubs, but having worked with Sarri at Chelsea, Loftus-Cheek could find it tempting to reunite with him at Lazio.
