According to Austrian news outlet Laola1, scouts from Aston Villa, Bristol City, Celtic, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Sunderland will watch Austria take on the Republic of Ireland this evening.

Whilst many teams were in World Cup qualifying action on Friday evening, Ireland travel to Vienna this evening as they look to progress from Group D.

During the last international break, Ireland picked up two wins as they beat Georgia and Moldova, leaving them joint-top of Group D with seven points from three games.

However, Austria have again disappointed having floundered at Euro 2016, as a point against Wales and a defeat to Serbia during the last international break have left them well off the pace.

Austrian stars like Aleksandar Dragovic, Martin Hinteregger, Marcel Sabitzer and Louis Schaub may be on the radars of clubs, whilst Irish winger Daryl Horgan will no doubt be the subject of interest from British sides.

The Dundalk star, 24, has starred in the Europa League this season, and not only did The Irish Sun recently report that Sunderland are keen on the wide man, but RTE also claimed that Aston Villa and Newcastle scouted Horgan last week too – and it would be little surprise to see Celtic move for Horgan too.
