Three Championship clubs, Villa, Wolves and Nottingham Forest are all in the chase for Shrewsbury Town’s loan star Dean Henderson.

The fact that young Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson is out of contract at the end of the season has not gone unnoticed.
Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Watford, Stoke, West Brom and Southampton are all reported to be among the interested parties from the Premier League. Meanwhile, Championship trio Wolves, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are also interested – as are Benfica, Olympiakos and Udinese.

The 20-year-old joined Manchester United’s academy from Carlisle United back in 2011 but has not yet made his senior bow for The Red Devils. With David de Gea, Sergio Romero and highly-rated Joel Pereira ahead of him in the pecking order, that does not seem likely to change soon.
Spoilt for choice
Though Henderson is proving himself at senior level this season with surprise League One leaders Shrewsbury Town. The Shrews narrowly avoided relegation in each of the last two seasons and were expected to be among the strugglers again this time round.
Instead, they are two points clear of Wigan Athletic after 12 games played, also boasting the joint-third best defensive record in the league. The form of Henderson has been a major factor in their remarkable start, the shot-stopper earning five clean sheets in his 10 league starts.
Though where Henderson will be plying his trade next season is anyone’s guess. Links with Aston Villa are certainly intriguing, however, given that another United loanee, Sam Johnstone, is currently between the sticks for Steve Bruce’s side.

Will Henderson join his fellow Red Devil in The Midlands?
