According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa are looking to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham for £25million if they win promotion to the Premier League.

Villa came from a goal down to claim a 2-1 win over West Bromwich Albion in the first leg of the Championship play-off semi-final on Saturday, leaving them in the box seat to reach the final.

Leeds or Derby County would stand in their way from there, but Villa will feel confident of a return to the Premier League having been in sensational form under Dean Smith in recent months.

Now, The Telegraph report that Villa already have a signing in mind if they do make it back to the top flight, as they want loanee Abraham on a permanent basis.

It’s believed that Abraham would cost around £25million, but Villa want to make a deal happen if they go up, enabling the 21-year-old to stay at Villa Park for the long term.

Abraham joined Villa on loan back in August, and has starred with 26 goals in 38 games for Villa, including a goal in Saturday’s 2-1 win over West Brom.

Villa would no doubt face competition for Abraham’s signature, but they may hope that his impressive season at Villa Park tempts him into staying.

With Chelsea facing a transfer ban though, they may well need Abraham to spearhead their attack next season, meaning Villa’s £25million bid may actually not be enough to secure a deal.
