Aston Villa are reportedly ready to allow Ross McCormack to join the Australian side on loan for the season.

McCormack has endured a torrid time since joining the Villans ahead of their campaign in the Championship. His arrival appeared to be a great move from the club, but his form has never vindicated the side’s decision to bring him in from Fulham.
He spent some of last season on loan with Melbourne City and scored 14 goals in 17 A-League appearances. And it appears that he is on the verge of returning Down Under.

The Mail adds that Wellington Phoenix were also keen on signing the 32-year-old for the campaign, but it appears that he will be joining the side that finished bottom of the standings last season.
McCormack’s contract with Villa expires at the end of next season, so perhaps it would be wrong to completely write off his chances of forcing his way back into the plans at Villa Park at some stage. But given that his form with Melbourne was not enough to convince Steve Bruce to hand him another chance, he may need to pull off something spectacular if he wants to prove a point to his parent club while away.
