Aston Villa are attempting to sign John Terry, but face a lot of competition – with West Bromwich Albion also interested.
According to a report in the Telegraph, Aston Villa are set to step up their chase for John Terry in the coming days.
Terry is one of Steve Bruce’s top targets this summer, following the expiration of the centre-back’s contract at Chelsea.
Bruce and Terry are said to have built up a good relationship over the years, and the Villa boss is hoping to convince the England international to drop into the Championship.
However, the big obstacle over any deal is believed to be that Terry is becoming increasingly interested in moving abroad.
A number of MLS sides are keen on signing Terry, and the possibility of moving to America is said to have attracted the 36-year-old.
West Bromwich Albion are also believed to be confident of being able to convince Terry to move.
Tony Pulis wants to bring in Terry, and is said to feel confident that West Brom can attract the Chelsea legend to sign up at the Hawthorns.
