Aston Villa are paying loanee Yannick Bolasie’s wages in full.

According to the Birmingham Mail, Aston Villa’s deal to bring in Yannick Bolasie on loan scuppered any hopes of landing John Terry.
Villa boss Steve Bruce is under increasing pressure after a less-than-impressive start to the season, including Saturday’s home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
One of Villa’s problems has been their lack of central defensive options, as late August deals for Harold Moukoudi and Scott McKenna fell through.
Free agents are now being considered by Bruce, including James Collins and Steven Caulker, but a return for John Terry appears to be off the table.
Terry remains a free agent having left Aston Villa at the end of last season, and recently turned down a move to Russian side Spartak Moscow, giving fans hope of a move back to Villa Park.

However, the Birmingham Mail report that Villa can no longer afford to bring Terry to the club, having signed Everton winger Yannick Bolasie on loan, in a deal which sees Villa paying his £70,000-a-week wages in full.
The wide man will make a big impact for Villa this season, but many will question the wisdom of spending such huge wages on him when they have been in financial struggles of late.
A cheaper free agent such as Caulker or Collins may be more viable, but it certainly seems that Villa fans can give up hope of signing Terry after Bruce brought Bolasie to Villa.
