According to the Daily Mail, Celtic are lining up an ambitious loan move for Chelsea talent Charly Musonda, with manager Brendan Rodgers also pursuing Blues striker Dominic Solanke.
The Bhoys may have dominated Scottish football this season, but with European success also on Rodgers’ radar, reinforcements will be needed at the end of the campaign.
Rodgers, who recently signed a long-term contract with the club, should be backed in the transfer market this summer, and he appears keen to raid his former club Chelsea.
The Daily Mail report that Rodgers is plotting an ambitious loan move for Belgian winger Charly Musonda, who joined Chelsea from Anderlecht back in 2012.
Wide man Musonda, 20, joined the Blues with huge promise, and whilst he has impressed for the club’s youth sides, he has yet to even make his first-team debut for the Stamford Bridge club.
Musonda impressed in a short loan spell with Real Betis last season, and whilst that deal was renewed last summer, he started just once this term before being sent back to Chelsea in January.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates
With little chance of him breaking into Antonio Conte’s first team any time soon, it’s claimed that the Blues could look to loan Musonda out again – and Rodgers is believed to be keen on luring the Belgian talent to Glasgow as a replacement for Manchester City loanee Patrick Roberts.
Musonda possesses blistering pace and superb dribbling, meaning he could form a terrifying tandem with Scott Sinclair in Rodgers’ front three – and he could be joined in that attack by another Chelsea attacker.

The report notes that Rodgers is still looking to bring Chelsea striker Dominic Solanke to Celtic this summer, with the 19-year-old set to leave Stamford Bridge when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Solanke is a product of the Chelsea youth setup, but has been afforded few first-team opportunities, with Celtic now looking to strike a bargain compensation deal due to cross-border contract rules – and with Musonda on the radar too, Celtic will be hoping to land two young Chelsea talents this summer.
