According to The Nottingham Post, Arvin Appiah will sign a new contract with Nottingham Forest.

It has been suggested that Appiah could put pen to paper on a new deal with Forest on Saturday when he turns 18.

Stance changed?

According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 59, December 16, 2018), Forest were willing to sell Appiah in the January transfer window for £6 million (click here to read more).

The latest report in The Nottingham Post means that Forest have changed their stance over the 17-year-old, who can operate as a forward or as a winger.

Sensible decision

Appiah is only 17 years of age, and the teenager has yet to establish himself in the Forest first team.

The attacker has been impressive when he has been given the chance for the youth teams, and it makes sense for Forest to tie him down to a long-term contract.

Appiah can become a major footballer in the coming years, and Forest would get much more than £6m then.
