A report in Italy claims an Instagram account said to belong to alleged Manchester United target Arturo Vidal is actually a fake.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport has published a story after an Instagram account claiming to be Arturo Vidal’s posted a message that has since gone global.

Alongside a photograph that was first posted on Vidal’s official Twitter account on Monday, was the message, “I’m happy to stay here #Jarkata.”

At the time it was unclear whether the message related to Vidal’s club Juventus or his current destination while on tour with the Italian side. But a number of media outlets went for the former, running stories suggesting Vidal had ruled out a move to Manchester United following weeks of speculation.

But before United fans get too upset at the prospect of missing out on a player who would be perfect for them, Tuttosport claim the account is a fake.

They claim Vidal only has an official Twitter account and the Instagram account is someone else’s. However, they conclude their report by saying the player is not for sale and he is happy in Italy.

So in short, it is as you were.
