According to Sky Sports, Arsenal want to raid London rivals Chelsea for midfielder Jorginho before the October transfer deadline.
It’s claimed that Jorginho has joined Houssem Aouar and Thomas Partey on Arsenal’s wish list as Mikel Arteta desperately pursues a new midfielder.
Arteta was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City when they targeted Jorginho from Napoli in 2018, only to lose out to Chelsea.
Now, Arteta wants Jorginho at Arsenal, in a deal that may be a little difficult to pull off given the rivalry between the two clubs and because Frank Lampard still values him.
Still, Arsenal have signed Petr Cech and David Luiz from Chelsea in recent memory, so the Blues may still have some hope of striking a deal.
Jorginho, 28, was a favourite of Maurizio Sarri at Napoli and Chelsea, but he now faces competition for playing time under Lampard – especially if they can land Declan Rice.

The Italian international is a fine passer of the ball, but doesn’t break up play like Partey and doesn’t have the creativity of Aouar.
Jorginho is therefore something of a strange target for Arsenal, and it remains to be seen whether they can tempt Chelsea into a deal.
