According to the London Evening Standard, Arsenal are set to raid Brentford for set piece expert Andreas Georgson.

It’s claimed that Mikel Arteta is looking to add to his coaching staff, especially after seeing Freddie Ljungberg leave the club.

Georgson is one man picked out by Arteta to join Arsenal, though a move is ‘still in its early stages’ as Arsenal prepare to land him.

Georgson is currently Brentford’s ‘Head of Set Pieces and Individual Development’, taking on an important role with the Bees.

With Arsenal struggling from set pieces last season, Georgson is now being eyed up as a specialist addition that can really help.

The Swede, 34, previously worked with Malmo in various roles from Youth Coach to Head of Youth Scouting, Under-17-boss, Assistant Manager and Under-21 boss.

This feels somewhat similar to Liverpool hiring Thomas Gronnemark as their specialist throw-in coach, with Arteta now following Jurgen Klopp in leaving no stone unturned.

Arteta has already pinched goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana from Brentford, whilst 90Min claimed in July that the Gunners fancy Brentford stopper David Raya.

The Bees are probably sick of Arsenal by now, and losing a talented young coach in Georgson would be very frustrating for the beaten Championship playoff finalists.
