Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus is in line to start against Crystal Palace on Sunday, according to The Telegraph.

The Gunners forward has returned to action after months on the sidelines with a knee injury.

Jesus made his first appearance since the World Cup in last week’s win over Fulham.

And on Thursday, the 25-year-old made his first start of the year in the Europa League meeting with Sporting CP.

Jesus played 45 minutes before Mikel Arteta replaced him with Leandro Trossard at the break.

The plan was for the Brazilian to get 60 minutes, but first-half injuries to other players meant Arteta had to act quickly.

Jesus’ comeback has been managed carefully, and the decision to take him off earlier was a good shout.

Although Arsenal were knocked out of the Europa League, the bigger picture is all about the Premier League title.

And having Jesus back to full fitness and match sharp is a huge boost for the Gunners’ title hopes.

In July last year, Gabriel Martinelli said his compatriot is “one of the best strikers in the world”.

And with how well Jesus has done at Arsenal, there’s no doubting that, if ever there were doubts.

Tricky opposition

Arsenal will be up against Palace, a relegation-battling outfit who have just sacked their manager.

The Eagles opted to part company with Patrick Vieira following a 12-match winless run at the club.

Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Brighton was their third defeat in a row.

Arsenal’s loss to Everton will be fresh in their minds and they’ll work hard to avoid a similar fate with another relegation battler with a new man in the dugout.
