Arsenal have considered a move for Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, but he wants to join Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Telegraph.
Hojbjerg looks set to depart Southampton this summer, as he has just one year remaining on his contract, and his availability has alerted a number of Premier League sides, including Arsenal.
Mikel Arteta’s side are looking for a defensive midfielder and Hojbjerg has been on their radar, but the Dane favours a move to Tottenham.
It is now said that Spurs are leading the race to land the £25 million-rated midfield enforcer (Daily Mail), as Jose Mourinho looks to strengthen his options in the centre of the park.
Arsenal do have their eyes on alternatives targets, with Thomas Partey thought to be near the top of their list (Sky).

But Hojbjerg has the advantage of having Premier League experience, and Mourinho apparently feels that the Southampton man’s arrival could really strengthen his team.
The idea of playing for Tottenham appeals to Hojbjerg, with Hotspur Way now looking like his most likely destination this summer.
If Hojbjerg does join Spurs he will be in competition with Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele for a first-team place.
