Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is said to be ‘relentlessly’ working with Nicolas Pepe in training to make him a greater attacking threat, according to Football London.

Pepe has had a difficult first season in the Premier League since becoming Arsenal’s record signing last summer.

The Ivorian has shown flashes of quality, but has not quite been able to nail down a place in Arsenal’s starting line-up.

Arteta is now eager to ensure that Pepe fulfils his potential at the Emirates and is said to be pushing him hard in training.

Arteta is reportedly attempting to work with Pepe on his dribbling skills in training, as he looks to ensure that the Arsenal forward can put oppositions side’s on the back foot.

Arteta’s approach is said to be very contrasting to his predecessor’s, Unai Emery’s, who was keen to work on the defensive side of Pepe’s game.

The Gunners boss wants his side to play on the front-foot and attack opposition sides more under his stewardship.

Pepe has contributed with six goals and eight assists so far this season, and Arteta will hope he can improve these tallies with more time on the training ground.
