Arsenal have agreed to terminate Mohamed Elneny’s contract, according to a report.
Elneny is a forgotten man at Arsenal these days.
This season, Mikel Arteta has only given him 48 minutes of Premier League football.
The Egypt international has been linked with a move to Turkey in recent months.
And Fotomac has reported that Arteta has decided to terminate his contract in January, allowing him to leave for free.
The report adds that Edu, Arsenal’s sporting director, is in agreement with Arteta about the 29-year-old.

This is a player who the Spanish coach labelled ‘special‘ last year following a win at Manchester United.
But even with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey yoyo-ing in and out of the first XI this season due to injury, there’s been no room for the former Basel midfielder.
Still, terminating his contract makes sense.
Arsenal clearly have no intention of relying heavily on him during the second half of the campaign and if that’s the case, severing all ties seems logical.
Elneny is out of contract at the Emirates Stadium next summer anyway, so cutting short his stay six months early isn’t a terrible idea.
He joined the North Londoners almost six years ago during Arsene Wenger’s reign.
Elneny featured prominently under Wenger but fell out of favour under Unai Emery, who loaned him to Besiktas.
The Egyptian rescued his Arsenal career in the summer of 2020 under Arteta, but it seems a shortlived resurgence as he prepares for Turkey.
