Mikel Arteta has promoted 19-year-old attacker Trae Coyle to Arsenal’s first-team as the Premier League’s long-awaited return edges closer, according to the Mirror.
As you might expect from a man who cut his coaching teeth under Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Arteta is no stranger to putting his faith in youth.
Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah have featured regularly in Arsenal’s starting XI since the former Gunners captain was handed his first ever managerial role in December.
With the Premier League due to return to our TV screens in just 19 days, there could be another teen talent making waves under Arteta in the very near future.
The Mirror claims that Coyle, a local-born forward who signed his first-ever professional contract in 2018, has testing himself alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mesut Ozil and co behind the scenes at Arsenal’s London Colney training ground.

Coyle is a versatile attacking midfielder whose fabulous footwork, impressive finishing and defence-splitting passes perhaps conjure up memories of Santi Cazorla at his brilliant best.
A bold comparison maybe but the former England U17 star certainly shares a few stylistic similarities with a legendary Spanish schemer.
And if he continues to impress on the training ground, expect Coyle to set foot on the Emirates turf when the Premier League resumes.
