Arsenal played their first game for three months today.
The Gunners returned to the Emirates Stadium for a friendly against Championship side Charlton Athletic in North London.
It was Arsenal’s first game at any competitive level since March 7, when they beat West Ham United 1-0 in the Premier League.
There are unconfirmed reports from Football London that Mikel Arteta’s side won the game 6-0, with Eddie Nketiah scoring a hat-trick.
The report adds that Sokratis Papastathopoulos – an £18 million signing two years ago – played in an unfamiliar right-back role at one stage of the game.
The Greek centre-half, who Arsenal are reportedly listening to offers for [Goal], is not a natural right-back and it makes you wonder if Hector Bellerin and Cedric Soares – still waiting on his debut since joining in January – are available.
The Londoners resume their Premier League campaign on June 17 with a trip to Manchester City, the game that was postponed shortly before the global health crisis suspended the season altogether.
