According to Marca, Mikel Arteta is in love with Joan Jordán’s style of play as Arsenal closely monitor the Sevilla maestro’s performances.
The Spanish news outlet claim that the 26-year-old is also wanted by Juventus, so Arsenal face competition if they plan to sign him.
Marca add that Jordán has a release clause of €50 million (£43.2 million).
In that respect, Arsenal would have to shell out a significant sum if they want to bring the Spaniard to the Emirates Stadium.
So, what is there to love about the Sevilla No.8’s playing style?
Well, Marca go into great detail about his talents.
They reference a recent ‘masterful’ display of his against Atlético Madrid, in which Jordán impressed as the ‘engine’ of the team.

Marca refer to his ‘quick and precise’ touches, and claim that he worked ‘tirelessly’ to test the opposition’s goal.
Jordán also ‘sufficiently’ broke down Madrid’s lines, and caused them problems by driving forward with the ball.
It’s no wonder that Arteta loves him – Arsenal need a player like this.

Currently, Arsenal’s midfielders are too static. Granit Xhaka rarely drives forward, or breaks down opponent lines, as he’s often been accused of passing the ball sideways and being too safe.
Martin Ødegaard is currently doing a good job of filling that creative void, although nobody knows if the Norwegian will still be at Arsenal next term.
In that respect, keep an eye on Jordán’s future – by the sounds of it, Arteta is a big fan of the Sevilla orchestrator.
