Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has not even spoken to Lucas Torreira for a ‘long time’, Tuttosport claim.
Torreira has been heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer, and it seems that his relationship with Arteta has deteriorated.
The combative midfielder remains fairly popular with Arsenal fans, but he has never quite managed to break into Arteta’s starting line-up on a regular basis.
That was partly down to injury and partly down to the form of Dani Ceballos.
With Ceballos expected to return to Arsenal next season and Arteta now wanting another central midfielder, as the Daily Mail have reported, it is difficult to see where Torreira fits in.
And his exit looks inevitability if the latest reports from Italy are true.
With Arsenal looking to raise funds, they will surely be looking to offload Torreira sooner rather than later.
And Tuttosport suggest that a move back to Italy is most likely, as plenty of Serie A sides are taking a look at the Uruguayan international.
